1. Who we are

bjjopenmats.ch is a non-commercial directory of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu open mats in the Zürich area, operated by Carlo Hartung. For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact hartungcarlo@gmail.com.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the site, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your request in server access logs. This processing is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability. Because Netlify operates from the USA, this data may be transferred outside Switzerland and the EEA.

3. Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies at all — neither for tracking nor for analytics. It stores a single value in your browser's local storage: theme, your light/dark display preference. It does not track you and is never shared with anyone; it stays in your browser.

4. Analytics

To understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from, this site uses Ahrefs Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service provided by Ahrefs Pte Ltd, 16 Raffles Quay, #33-03 Hong Leong Building, Singapore 048581. It loads a small script from analytics.ahrefs.com on every page.

According to the provider, the service records the page URL, the referring page, your browser and device type (user agent), your browser language, an approximate location derived from your IP address (no more precise than city level), and interactions such as page views and link clicks. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Your raw IP address is not stored: it is combined with your user agent and a salt that changes daily to produce a hash used only to count unique visitors within a single day. This means you cannot be recognised across days, devices, or other websites, and we never see individual visitors — only aggregated figures.

Ahrefs is based in Singapore and states that the data it collects is stored in the USA, so this processing may involve a transfer outside Switzerland and the EEA. Further details are available in the Ahrefs privacy policy.

5. Advertising

This site currently shows no ads and loads no advertising scripts. If advertising is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested before any advertising cookies are set.

6. Legal basis

We process data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable to visitors from the EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Technical hosting logs are processed based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The aggregated analytics described in section 4 rest on the same legitimate interest in understanding how the directory is used. Because that measurement sets no cookies and stores no information on your device, it does not require consent under the ePrivacy rules; you can still object to it at any time using the contact address below.

7. External links

Listings link to gym websites, Instagram profiles, and Google Maps. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. We have no influence over their data processing.

8. Your rights

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site or legal requirements change. The current version with its effective date is always published on this page.
